.......................................................................................................................................................................................................... DIY (Do It Yourself) LINE: All Seasons' DIY LINE of products are for those who wish to do their own installations. Our vinyl decking materials themselves will still carry their full warranty, but we cannot offer any warranty on the installation when you do it yourself. It is critical that you use the proper glue because some glues will bleed through the vinyl. Click on images to enlarge |

| In order to complete your own vinyl deck installation you will most likely require some of the following products: |
solvent-based vinyl adhesive |
This vinyl adhesive is used with our Ultra and DIY line of vinyl decking membranes. It is a solvent base adhesive that offers
outstanding grab characteristics on flat and vertical surfaces. It works with various substrates, (even metals and
concrete) and can be used in colder temperature installations (1° C - 40° C). It comes in a 5 US
gallon / 18.9 litre pail that weighs 45 pounds / 20 kg. Shelf life is 12 months and must be discarded if
subjected to freezing. Coverage is 250 - 300 sq. ft. per pail. |

water-based latex adhesive |
This vinyl adhesive is used with our Ultra and DIY line of vinyl decking membranes. It is a water base latex adhesive that
offers excellent field workability and low VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds). It is applied using a
1/16" X 1/16" u-notched trowel to porous substrates such as plywood. The vinyl membrane is placed
into fresh wet adhesive, resulting in faster installation time and higher productivity. It comes in a 5 US
gallon / 18.9 litre pail that weighs 56 pounds. Shelf life is 12 months and must be discarded if
subjected to freezing. Coverage is 600 - 700 sq. ft. per pail. |
vinyl deck clips |
Available in grey and beige. (Click the image to see a larger picture) Deck clips are used to finish off the exposed end of the vinyl membrane where it hangs over the edge of a deck and terminates at the end of the deck flashing. The clip is simply pressed on so that the vinyl membrane and the flashing are sandwiched within the clip's sides. Watch the decking installation video to see how it is applied. |
flashing |
Flashing is available as PVC in grey and beige, or as metal in grey and beige. Flashing is used wherever water can drip off a vertical surface. The shape of the flashing is such that it directs water outward and away from the vertical surface it has just run down. The perimeters of open decks are usually trimmed with flashing to deflect water off facias and into gutters. You will need deck clips to finish off the exposed edge of metal flashing and to prevent the vinyl membrane from curling, whereas the vinyl membrane is welded directly to the PVC flashing when using 3-Ply Smoothback vinyls. |
wood deck drain |
(Click the image for more information) The WDD1 Wood Deck Drain is used in situations where water cannot freely run off the deck and a drain through the deck is required. |
welded deck drain |
This Deck Drain is welded to our 3-Ply Smoothback vinyls and used in situations where water cannot freely run off
the deck and a drain through the deck is required. The design allows for attachment to various sizes of outlet pipe,
while still fitting inside confined joist spaces. Membranes can be easily welded to the PVC coated flange, ensuring
the best defense against water back-up or penetration underneath the membrane. It has a spun aluminum body and a
removable grate. |

L-trim |
Available in grey and beige. (Click the image to see a larger picture). L-trim is used to fasten the edge of vinyl membranes to exterior walls where it is not possible to run up the wall 6 inches and have the building envelope overlap the vinyl membrane. This will often be the case with re-applications where the owner does not wish to damage the building's exterior wall when renewing their deck. |
ChemPatch |
ChemPatch is an all-purpose cement patching compound that is used to correct any irregular surfaces of your deck prior
to laying down your vinyl membrane. ChemPatch should be applied at all seams between sheets of wood, over nail heads
and the transition between wood deck and flashing. It can also be used to repair voids in the plywood sheeting.
Watch the decking installation video to see how it is applied. |
heat gun |
(Click the image to see a larger picture) This hot air tool is required for welding the seams of your new vinyl deck. It is also suitable for many other uses such as welding of thermoplastic pipes and other profiles of thermoplastic elastomers. It can be used for heating, drying, shrinking of heat-shrinkable sleeves, soldering, defrosting, and igniting wood chips, paper, coal, or straw. There are a variety of nozzles available for many different applications. (pdf of nozzles) (manufacturer's list of nozzles) |
